CMA's Carmen Hinton Wins National Video Contest

Congratulations to Carmen Hinton, Service Manager at CMA's Valley Subaru, on winning NADA's 2022 Women Driving Auto Retail video contest! Her win was announced at the NADA Show in Las Vegas. Watch this video to see our CEO, Liza, accepting the award on Carmen's behalf:



Carmen will receive a $1,000 gift card, complimentary registration to NADA Show 2023 in Dallas, and a scholarship to NADA’s Professional Series, a training program to foster talent working in any dealership department – a value of $2,995. Here's the winning video!

John was born in Frederick, MD to lifelong Frederick residents and remained there throughout his childhood and into adulthood. He attended Thomas Johnson High, where he played on both the basketball and baseball teams. After graduating in 1992, he enrolled in Frederick Community College. After one year of community college and working part time cleaning cars at a local dealership, John decided he wanted to work full time in the auto industry.

Donates Almost $30,000 to Pediatric Cancer Non-Profits

CMA observed Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in a big way. For each vehicle sold during the month of September, CMA’s dealerships throughout Virginia made a donation to local non-profits that support pediatric cancer research and provide resources for local children as they undergo treatment.

If you see a CMA associate wearing a pink t-shirt or pink ribbon hat at any CMA dealership, it's not just to raise awareness in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each of those CMA owners made small contributions to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation in order to get those shirts and hats.

CMA & Subaru of America Donated a Total of $14,000 to Local Schools

All 3 of CMA's Subaru dealerships participated in the Subaru Loves Learning program in September 2021:
  • CMA's Subaru of Winchester raised $3,000 each for two schools: Bunker Hill Elementary in Bunker Hill, West Virginia, and Orchard View Elementary located in Winchester, Virginia.
  • CMA's Valley Subaru raised $5,000 for Stuarts Draft Elementary School in Stuarts Draft, VA.
  • CMA's Colonial Subaru raised $3,000 for Marguerite Christian Elementary School in Colonial Heights, VA.

CMA Participates in 2021 Day of Caring

CMA was proud to participate in the 30th annual United Way Day of Caring! Our team worked at the Rockfish Valley Community Center in Nelson County, VA. The Community Center houses a weekly farmer's market, a coffee shop, a thrift store, and artisan studios plus has a skate park and recreation fields. The CMA crew painted and stained their new outdoor stage and helped create a pictorial history of the Center by rehabbing 80-year-old window sashes into art frames.
