Thank you to everyone for your efforts to make our annual Cars and Cans food drive campaign a success! Summer is a tough season for food banks as they receive the least amount of donations and schools are out for break. Many families who relied on the free breakfast and lunch during the school year now must take on that added responsibility. There is such a great need this time of year with children being out of school for the summer months and not getting the nutrition they are used to while being in school.

Locally, we provided 4,017 meals in the Valley/Staunton Market, 3,528 meals in the Richmond market, 1,875 meals in the Charlottesville market, 200 meals in the Martinsburg market, and 150 pounds in the Winchester market. Additionally, Lynchburg raised $5,500 for the local Salvation Army and Williamsburg collected 833 cans and raised over $1,500 in cash donations. Our Valley Subaru Service team also had the highest ROUNDUP and beat their goal of $500! Great work everyone!

Overall, that is 9,770 meals for our local communities! What an amazing accomplishment we were able to achieve! Thank you for helping us Move Lives Forward in our communities!

A special shoutout to Tammy Banning from CMA’s Colonial Chevrolet, Jessica Hicks from CMA’s Honda of Lynchburg, Faith Hylton from CMA’s Williamsburg Ford, Laura Campbell from CMA’s Valley/Staunton market, and Natalie Gibson from CMA’s Colonial Auto Center! Thank you for your initiative and leadership in getting everyone involved!
