Nearly 100 Years in Virginia

Carter Myers Automotive was founded as Petersburg Motor Company in 1924 in Petersburg, Virginia, by H. Carter Myers. Nearly 100 years later, Liza Myers Borches - representing the fourth generation of the Myers family - is our President and CEO.

CMA has a rich history in Virginia and in the automotive industry. What started as a single Ford dealership has expanded to include 24 dealerships throughout Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month at CMA


September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and CMA is committed to doing our part to make a difference. Each of our markets has chosen a local non-profit to be the recipient of our efforts. Some are donating a certain amount per test drive, some are donating per car sold, and some are collecting cash and item donations for the children. The non-profits are:

#CMAstrong Suicide Awareness Campaign

During the month of March, CMA is bringing awareness to Suicide Prevention in memory of our first GM at CMA’s Williamsburg Ford, Brandon Stanhope.

For all friends and family across CMA who have lost a loved one to suicide, we are raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Virginia: NAMIvirginia.org. Now, more than ever, connection and support are critical to mental health.

We have #CMAStrong masks and t-shirts available to purchase, and monetary donations are being accepted at all Carter Myers Automotive dealerships. #CMAgivesback #proudtobeCMA
