Nearly 100 Years in Virginia

Carter Myers Automotive was founded as Petersburg Motor Company in 1924 in Petersburg, Virginia, by H. Carter Myers. Nearly 100 years later, Liza Myers Borches - representing the fourth generation of the Myers family - is our President and CEO.

CMA has a rich history in Virginia and in the automotive industry. What started as a single Ford dealership has expanded to include 24 dealerships throughout Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.

From the customer who asked us to deliver their new car to Bangor, Maine (after our driver had a negative Covid-19 test) to the customer who needed a loaner car on Christmas Day... for all the customers who invited us to their homes to pick up their cars for service or for safe at-home vehicle purchases. Annual Ad Design Contest Winners!

Every year the Northern VA Daily newspaper partners with the local schools to have them design an ad. CMA’s Martinsburg and Winchester dealerships have participated with this program for the last 6+ years. This year they chose to highlight the makes sold at the Winchester and Martinsburg locations, along with the website, with the goal being to get people in the community to start recognizing the CMA name and associating us with those brands.
