Family & Employee-Owned Company Welcomes 5 New Franchises

Winchester, Virginia - November 3, 2021 - Carter Myers Automotive (CMA), a family and employee-owned dealer group celebrating 97 years in Virginia, has announced the acquisition of Miller Auto Group, including two franchises in Winchester, VA, and three in Martinsburg, WV. With this acquisition, CMA will have 20 locations representing 18 new car brands and employing nearly 1,000 people.

"As far back as the 1970s, George and John Miller worked with my dad (H. Carter Myers III) as West Virginia and Virginia dealers and through their leadership roles in the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). Their legacy will continue and become part of our mission of Moving Lives Forward."

To reach those goals, we will be hiring additional technicians, salespeople, and parts associates, all of whom will qualify for equity in the company."

Miller Auto Sales was a used car business founded by James M. Miller, Sr. in 1955. After his passing, his twin sons, George and John, grew the business to include new car franchises for Honda, Chevrolet, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Hyundai, and Toyota. Throughout their careers, George and John Miller were highly regarded in the industry. George was elected NADA Director for West Virginia from 1990 to 1999 and was named 2001 West Virginia TIME Dealer of the Year. He passed away in 2012 and John continued to run the company. John Miller received the same honor as his brother in 2018 when he was named West Virginia TIME Dealer of the Year.

As part of CMA, the dealerships will now operate as CMA's CDJR of Martinsburg, CMA's Chevrolet of Martinsburg, CMA's Honda of Winchester, CMA's Hyundai of Winchester, and CMA's Toyota of Martinsburg. They join CMA's Subaru of Winchester, five CMA dealerships in Staunton, three in Charlottesville, one in Williamsburg, and five in the Richmond, VA market.
